The Song
Back in December 2019, when people wearing masks were almost exclusively to be found in intensive care units and laboratories, 20-year old singer/songwriter and medical student Tobias Schabauer sat down to write about the hardships of a long distance relationship he had gone through. He was just starting out crafting his own material, after doing cover versions for YouTube and playing local gigs.
A few weeks later, COVID-19 hit Europe and the rest of the world, turning even close relationships and family all around the globe into what felt like long distance. That’s when Tobias met producer Peter Schwaiger, who at that time was working as a paramedic for the local Red Cross department.
Between night shifts and lockdowns, oftentimes over the internet, they started collaborating on what would eventually become “Goals and Appointments” – a song that derived from personal experience, but turned into a note to a generation, whose goals and appointments had been cancelled.

The Artist
Tobias Schabauer is a 22-year old Singer/Songwriter and medical student based near Vienna, Austria.
He is inspired by artists like Ed Sheeran, Ben Howard, Bon Iver, Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros, The Lumineers, Mumford and Sons, Father John Misty, Kaleo, Jose Gonzalez, Hozier, Villagers, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Vance Joy, Tom Odell and Angus & Julia Stone.
“Goals & Appointments”, his debut single, will be released on October 29th. Tobias is currently working on his upcoming EP, which will be out in 2022.
